The shower setting was odd, to be sure. But it's the naked truth: The first time Jason Elam was introduced to John Elway, in summer 1993 during Broncos training camp in Greeley, they were in the midst of getting themselves clean as a whistle.

"That's how it happened," Elam recalled with a laugh this week. "And John said, 'Hey, I've heard a lot about you and I'm glad to have you on the team.' "
