Swahili recommended as main language in Great Lakes region

KAMPALA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation ( MNF) and Uganda have recommended that Swahili should be adopted as the main language in the Great Lakes region, local daily New Vision reported Wednesday.

The recommendation is contained in a report presented to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Monday by parliament member Tarsis Kabwegere and MNF Executive Director Joseph Butiku.
