DHAKA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Bengal Art has had a long and illustrious history stretching back to approximately the third century B.C.

This valuable heritage needs to be treasured. Much more can be done to maintain it and prevent further decay and neglect, say art experts.

Artifacts found in northern Bangladesh consist of remnants of temple structures, monasteries, stupas (funeral mounds) and other buildings, as well as art objects of various kinds such as statuary, inscriptions, coins, jewelry and beads. These link the development of art forms ...
