Roundup: Protecting ozone layer remains tough task

NAIROBI, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- As the world observes the International Ozone Day on Monday, leading ozone scientists of theworld warned that despite good signs of recovery, the ozone layer will remain particularly vulnerable during the next decade or so, even if countries comply with the international agreements to protect it.

"New data show levels of ozone-depleting gases in the stratosphere, or upper atmosphere, are now at or near their peak,"said scientists in a report released here on Monday by the United Nations ...
