American Jewish Committee Praises Israel's Handling of Gaza Disengagement

NEW YORK, Aug. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ bb The American Jewish Committee
(AJC) today praised the manner in which Israel is handling the
disengagement from Gaza:
"Israel has once again shown to the world the primacy of
democratic values and the rule of law which govern Israeli society,"
said David Harris, AJC's executive director. "When a determined
minority chose to challenge the bold decision of the Israeli
government to disengage from Gaza, Israeli authorities, with a
