It's taken 10 years for the Washington Ballet to make it to the
Kennedy Center, and now that this milestone has been passed, it's
clear that it's at once a triumph and a challenge.
The triumph is the recognition by the national cultural center of
the troupe's outstanding artistic and organizational progress, long
