A California businessman who took up Jessica Hahn's case said
yesterday that she wept when she told him for the first time the
story of her December 1980 sexual encounter with evangelist Jim
Bakker.
"She was sobbing," said Paul Roper. "She kept bowing her head
when she got embarrassed so she wouldn't have to look me in the eye."
It was 1984, said Roper, 43, when he first learned about Hahn's
