Belgium Honors Korean War Vets with Wreath Laying

WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Belgian Ambassador
will lay a wreath at the Korean War Veterans Memorial on the National
Mall at 10 a.m. Saturday in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the
Korean War.
His Excellency Baron Franciskus van Daele and U.S. Army Brig. Gen.
Robert E. Gaylord, Deputy Chief of Public Affairs, will place a
wreath at the memorial to recognize the sacrifices of Korean War
veterans from the two nations who fought as part of the U.N. Forces.
Twenty members of the Belgian Volunteer Brigade were flown in aboard
Belgian Air Force planes to attend the event.
