Labor Grant Will Aid Dislocated Workers in Maine and New Hampshire Fishing Industries; Secretary Chao Announces Emergency Grant

WASHINGTON, May 13 /U.S. Newswire/ -- U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced a National Emergency Grant of $500,000 that will aid approximately 305 displaced workers in Maine and New Hampshire's fishing industries. National Emergency Grants are part of the secretary's discretionary fund. A grant is awarded after a state submits a request and the grant guidelines have been met.

"The President and I are committed to getting both Maine and New Hampshire's displaced workers the job and skills training they need to find re-employment," Chao said. "I hope these funds will be deployed ...
