Rep. Mark Foley Introduces Rare 'Orphan' Diseases Products Bill; Nearly One In Ten Floridians Suffer With Rare 'Orphan' Diseases

WASHINGTON, March 27 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The National Organization
for Rare Disorders (NORD) is pleased to announced that Representative
Mark Foley (D-Fla. 16th), a long-time advocate of the rare disease
community, introduced the Rare Diseases Orphan Product Development
Act of 2002, H.R. 4014, on March 20. In concert with Foley, Rep. John
Shimkus introduced the Rare Diseases Act of 2002, H.R. 4013.
