Sen. Prentiss Challenges Medicare Policy Restricting Care For Dialysis Patients

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Sen. C.J. Prentiss has strongly criticized a proposed Medicare policy that would deny reimbursement for a medication currently being used by more than three-quarters of the dialysis patients who require vitamin D therapy.

"Dialysis patients are among the sickest of Medicare patients," said Sen. Prentiss. "It is outrageous to target them for cost savings in a way that could deny them the best available treatment."
