National Emergency Grant To Aid Oregon's Dislocated Workers; Money Will Provide Re-Employment Services To Laid Off Workers

WASHINGTON, Jan. 2 /U.S. Newswire/ -- U.S. Secretary of Labor
Elaine L. Chao announced today the allocation of a $1,707,993
National Emergency Grant to aid workers dislocated as a result of the
closure of AgriFrozen Foods, Inc., in Woodburn and Salem, Ore.
"All dislocated workers must have access to the services and
skills training they need to find re-employment as quickly as
possible," Chao said. "National Emergency Grants, like this one, are
a major part of the president's stimulus package and provide crucial
re-employment aid to dislocated workers."
