Glen Tetley and the Staging of His `Alice'
|
Few new ballets of recent times have caused as much stir in the
dance world as Glen Tetley's "Alice," based on the classic writings
of Lewis Carroll and set to a Pulitzer Prize-winning score by
composer David Del Tredici. It was the main attraction last night at
the Kennedy Center Opera House, when the National Ballet of Canada
presented the first of two programs for its week-long engagement.
The occasion also marked the Kennedy Center debut for this
largest of Canadian ballet troupes, founded by Celia Franca and now
