Brown abandons holiday plans to tackle foot-and-mouth crisis

GORDON Brown has cancelled his holiday plans to deal with foot- and-mouth disease.

The Prime Minister enjoyed the sunshine in Dorset for just over four hours last Friday before heading back to work to deal with the latest crisis.

But while Mr Brown shelved all hope of returning to the south coast, David Cameron, the Conservative leader, set off for Brittany last night having delayed his holiday to respond to the foot-and- mouth outbreak.

Mr Cameron abandoned his eco-friendly plans to catch a ferry and booked a last-minute flight. His spokeswoman said he would join his family, who took a car ...
