Fat cats are munching way to leap in diabetes

A GROWING population of fat cats is fuelling a rise in feline
diabetes, research revealed yesterday.
A study by Edinburgh University estimated that one in every 230
cats in the UK is now diabetic - five times the level seen in the
1970s.
It is feared that the unhealthy lifestyles of humans are being
mirrored in their feline friends, leading to rising rates of
diabetes.
Animal experts urged people to consider the health of their pets
so they are not overfed, putting them at greater risk of ill health.
