JOHN L.B. SELWOOD,

73, a retired consultant who specialized in problems of amphibious warfare, died March 8 at the National Hospital for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation after a heart attack.

Mr. Selwood, of Washington, was born in England and was a graduate of the University of London. He first came to Washington in 1940 with the British Air Ministry to work in the administration of the Lend Lease program, under which U.S. goods were made available for the British and Soviet war efforts.

During the late 1940s and the 1950s, he worked for Bell Aerosystems in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
