The Government: Greens work to broker coalition deal between Lib Dems and SNP

THE Scottish Greens have begun behind-the-scenes manoeuvring in an
attempt to bring the Liberal Democrats and the SNP together in
coalition, it emerged last night.
The two Scottish Green MSPs have used their private negotiations
with the SNP to try to get the Nationalists to move on the issue of a
referendum on independence.
They have also offered to start formal talks with the Lib Dems -
without the SNP present - to try to break the deadlock from both
sides.
