Rangers land Thomson for GBP 2m Midfielder leaves Hibs to sign four- and-a-half-year deal at Ibrox, with Brown expected to follow in summer

RANGERS last night completed the most eye-catching piece of
business conducted in the current transfer window so far when they
signed Kevin Thomson from Hibernian for a fee in the region of GBP 2
million.
Less than 24 hours after Hibs manager John Collins had insisted
yet again that both Thomson and his fellow unsettled midfielder Scott
Brown would be remaining at Easter Road at least until the end of the
season, the former passed a medical at Murray Park and put pen to
paper on a contract with the Ibrox club which runs until the summer
of 2011.
