THIS WAS a holiday with a notable difference: I got to meet in the flesh the most famous Egyptian who has ever lived. On being introduced, I was surprised how handsome he looked for his age. His fine white hair was longer than I expected. His fingernails were better manicured than mine. His name is Ramesses the Great, Pharaoh of Egypt from 1279BC to 1213BC and the ruler who gave Moses a hard time. I met him - or at least his uncovered mummy - in the Cairo Museum, an Aladdin's cave of historic artefacts that is surely one of the most stunning museums in all the world.
