Property investors buy Covent Garden for GBP 421m
|
COVENT Garden has been sold to a subsidiary of the FTSE 100
property firm Liberty International for GBP 421 million in cash.
The London tourist draw that features the historic market has been
bought by Capital & Counties, which already owns GBP 50m worth of
shops, offices and residential property on Long Acre and Floral
Street. The group is buying a further 450,000sq ft of property in
Covent Garden, almost all of it freehold.
The acquisition gives Capital control of Covent Garden market and
almost all of the three walls of properties surrounding it, except
