Seven Wonders vote passes the 20,000 mark

THE great public vote to identify the Seven Wonders of Scotland has been a phenomenal success - with 20,000-plus votes cast in less than three weeks.

The Scotsman launched the search, in partnership with the National Trust for Scotland, on 4 February in an attempt to find the icons which best symbolise our nation at home and abroad.

We included famous structures such as the Forth Bridge and Rosslyn Chapel, natural wonders such as St Kilda, Iona and Ben Nevis and icons of Scotland such as golf, single malt whisky and the famed Scots sense of humour.
