Mubarak, Hussein Won't Visit U.S.; Arab Leaders Reject Invitations in Protest of U.S. Arms Sales to Iran

Two of the United States' closest Arab allies, President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and King Hussein of Jordan, have turned down invitations to visit Washington for talks with President Reagan in anger over the administration's sale of arms to Iran and its stands on other issues.

Mubarak was scheduled to visit here this week but informed the State Department several weeks ago that he was canceling his trip. Although no date had been set for the king's visit, he was expected to come here next month, according to Jordanian sources.
