Stop the dithering over Iran's nuclear menace

FOR months now, the headlines have been dominated by exaggerated
worries over a possible global pandemic of bird flu. The conservative
French are even stockpiling protective masks for every citizen. But
we should be far more concerned with events this week in Iran, where
Tehran's clerical lunatics have finally decided to kick over the
traces and restart manufacturing weapons-grade uranium. This is a far
more ominous development for the world than a few deaths from H5N1.
