CONSIDER for a moment the mental turmoil this week of Mike Scott- Hayward, the local councillor for Elie, St Monans and Pittenweem in Fife. Councillor Scott-Hayward was the man directly behind Brian Monteith on the list of Tory candidates for Mid Scotland and Fife at the 2003 Holyrood elections. Mr Monteith resigned from the Scottish Conservative Party on Tuesday following revelations that he had plotted the fall of David McLetchie as Tory leader.
