THE Scottish Land Fund was set up in February 2001 with GBP 10 million of lottery money and later topped up with another GBP 5 million.

The fund helps communities acquire, develop and manage local land or land assets.

Its objectives include reducing disadvantage in rural areas, encouraging community involvement in land ownership and management, and diversification of land ownership patterns.
