Little Britain is bringing home big profits for BBC

THE delinquent teenager Vicky Pollard, Daffyd - "the only gay in
the village" - and the other dysfunctional creations from the TV
comedy Little Britain have helped rake in record profits of GBP 55
million for the BBC in overseas programme exports and DVD sales.
BBC Worldwide, the corporation's commercial arm, said yesterday
that its profits were up by 50 per cent in the year 2004-5 with sales
of more than GBP 700 million.
Little Britain emerged as one of the strongest performers on the
BBC's balance sheet. The comedy show has been exported to 14
countries and the DVD of series one has sold ...
