IF BREAKING up is hard to do, then the wonderful TG Stan of Antwerp is a theatre company determined to push the boundaries of the art-form in exploring the meaning of the break-up experience. At the Tramway they presented a strange, powerful, stripped-down version of Racine's Berenice, in which a gorgeous captured Queen of Palestine, brought to Rome as a possible bride for the Emperor Titus, is finally rejected by him for political reasons, despite their passionate mutual love.
