Deep Sea buoyed by profits up 58 per cent

DEEP Sea Leisure's shares jumped almost 21 per cent yesterday
after the aquarium operator - which runs a major complex in North
Queensferry - posted a 58 per cent surge in annual profits and
announced investment projects at its two sites in Fife and Cheshire.
Shares in the group gained 10p to close at 58.5p after the firm,
which also owns Blue Planet in Chester, posted annual pre-tax profits
of GBP 1.66 million on turnover up GBP 620,000 at GBP 6.76m.
Finance director Sue Elaiho said a boom in visitor numbers and
spend per head - up 6 per cent and 4 per cent, respectively - had led
