Euronext sets out its stall for LSE bid

THE battle for the London Stock Exchange hotted up yesterday, as Euronext unveiled its proposals and said that its merger with the LSE would bring twice the savings - about GBP 140 million - of the rival offer from Deutsche Brse.

Euronext also pledged a 10 per cent cut in fees for LSE customers and said it would seek a dual listing for its shares in Paris and London.

However, Euronext, which runs stock markets in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal, said it wanted competition clearance first before naming a price. Deutsche Brse has had an indicative offer of 530p per share, valuing ...
