Mather loses the will to fight for Scotland

CAMERON Mather yesterday announced his retirement from
international rugby, causing further concern over who will fill
Scotland's back-row berths against France in the opening Six Nations
Championship match a fortnight tomorrow.
Mather was considering quitting in the summer, having battled back
from a pectoral muscle injury which curtailed his Championship last
season, but when injury struck again in the first match of the
Australia tour, he vowed to again fight back into contention. He did
