A grave crisis is about to beset us. This is not some minor economic turbulence that we can weather by selective belt-tightening. Nor is it some foreign policy imbroglio that we can survive by placing our faith in our political leaders and hoping that they will get us through this one with their customary acumen. This isn't something we can ignore.
