Carlton Clubs wins three-year battle to build GBP 5m bingo hall at Inverness

CARLTON Clubs, one of the largest independent bingo operators in
the UK, has been granted detailed planning permission to build a GBP
5 million club on the outskirts of Inverness after a long-running
planning wrangle and despite local opposition.
Highland Council has given consent for the 850-seat state-of-the-
art premises at the Beechwood Park site. The company, based in
Inverness, first submitted plans three years ago but was turned down
twice by the council.
However, outline permission was given after a public inquiry.
