Carlton Clubs wins three-year battle to build GBP 5m bingo hall at Inverness

CARLTON Clubs, one of the largest independent bingo operators in the UK, has been granted detailed planning permission to build a GBP 5 million club on the outskirts of Inverness after a long-running planning wrangle and despite local opposition.

Highland Council has given consent for the 850-seat state-of-the- art premises at the Beechwood Park site. The company, based in Inverness, first submitted plans three years ago but was turned down twice by the council.
