The ideal man to write about the great Free Church schism

AN AMERICAN cartoon published a few years ago was captioned "How
reporters start their day at work". It showed a large wall-board with
the heading: "Today I am an expert in", and below, about 30 boxes
with headings ranging from politics, economy, car repair and bondage
to sport, computers, septic tanks and world peace. A reporter,
covering his eyes, was throwing a dart at the board.
Apart from seeing why I would love to have been a good cartoonist -
that paragraph above could have been taken in at a glance from the
original drawing - there is a germ of truth in it. Not much,
certainly not in ...
