How I was hijacked by Franz Ferdinand's support band

About a year and a half ago I heard about this art opening in
Glasgow. I vaguely knew the curators, Sorcha and Marianne, and the
thing sounded cool in an Andy Warhol sort of way, being on the top
floor of a disused warehouse, so I popped in for an hour. There was a
band on later, Sorcha said, but most bands I'd seen at art openings
were terrible, so I looked at the art, chatted to a couple of people
I knew, and left.
As it turned out, this was one of the first gigs by Franz
Ferdinand, who you may have heard of. The warehouse - aka the Chateau
- was mobbed, until the police threw everyone out ...
