OPERA Glyndebourne Touring Opera - Idomeneo **** FESTIVAL THEATRE, EDINBURGH

PETER Sellars's production of Mozart's early masterpiece Idomeneo was panned when first introduced to Glyndebourne audiences earlier this year. The Iraqi war setting, coupled with an impassioned take on the classical tale was too much to swallow at the time, despite a cast that was star-studded, right down to the man at the musical helm, Sir Simon Rattle.

Sellars's shortened reworking (along with Stephen Barlow) for this touring version, minus the big names, is certainly not a production to be wary of. Whatever he ...
