A night or two at a romantic inn can be an excellent break from
mid-winter doldrums. But which inn?
The Washington area is graced with a large and varied selection,
and new ones seem to be opening every month. Inn-fanciers who try to
keep tabs on these special lodgings estimate there may be 300 or more
within a three-hour drive of the city: inns on the Chesapeake; inns
in the mountains; inns at the beach; Shenandoah Valley inns;
country inns, village inns and even big-city inns.
