SINCE it was set-up in 1903, the National Art Collections Fund has
acquired half a million works for the nation, several of which have
provided the inspiration for a special centenary concert touring the
country.
The programme of predominantly 17th and 18th century music,
performed by the outstanding Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment,
links into specific works of art at the various venues.
The National Gallery of Scotland's contribution, in Edinburgh, was
James Oswald's aria The Poppy, from his Serenata No 4 in A Major for
