Executive opposes giving tenant farmers absolute right to buy

THE Scottish Executive confirmed yesterday that it is against
giving some tenant farmers the right to buy their land whether or not
the landowner wants to sell.
During a debate on the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Bill it
also became clear that the SNP may be easing away from plans to
propose this absolute right to buy at the next stage of the bill.
