Missiles Hit Cities In Gulf War; Iran Said to Rush Troops to Bridgehead

Iran and Iraq traded missile attacks against each other's cities
today, as Iran pressed its three-day-old offensive in the Persian
Gulf war.
News agency reports said Iraq tonight confirmed it had hit four
Iranian towns with surface-launched missiles, in retaliation for an
Iranian missile that plowed into a Baghdad residential neighborhood
early this morning. Iran also claimed to have hit the port city of
Basra with missiles today, amid its offensive on the southern front.
