AKAKY Akakyevich is the fool of St Petersburg. A simpleton, government clerk, he dutifully copies the documents churned out by the labyrinthine, Russian bureaucracy. But after a lifetime accepting his lot, he finally buys a new overcoat and, with it, discovers pride - the mechanism of his undoing.

This Gogol adaptation was one of the Fringe's back street hits last year. This time around, the performance lacks the same freshness and innocence.

Instead, it is a little louder, a little less subtle. Changes to the cast have been made. Ian Bunt still ...
