Galtieri's arrest ordered for 'dirty war' crimes

AN ARGENTINE judge yesterday ordered the arrest of former military dictator General Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri in connection with the torture, disappearance and murder of leftists in the 1970s.

Claudio Bonado, a federal judge, wants to question Galtieri and 30 other former army military officers as part of his investigation into the disappearance of 20 Montonero guerrillas, including the sons of the actor Marcos Zucker and the writer David Vias.

Galtieri, who headed the military junta at the time of the 1982 Falklands war, was tried and jailed for his involvement with the military ...
