IN THE vast, resonant acoustics of Glasgow's Barony Hall, the
Strathclyde University Symphony Orchestra sounded big and buoyant. It
had every reason to. Last night was a celebration of the orchestra's
21st birthday.
The sense of occasion was heightened by the premire of Strathclyde
Dances, an unashamedly traditional and unpretentious concert opener
by John Maxwell Geddes, the Glasgow-based composer.
