Special Prosecutor Sought in Queens;Victims' Lawyers Accuse District Attorney of `Bad Faith'

Lawyers for two black men beaten in an attack that left another black man dead 11 days ago in the Howard Beach section of Queens made an emotional appeal today for a special prosecutor in the case, asserting that the district attorney is conducting a "bad-faith investigation."

Meanwhile, Gov. Mario M. Cuomo's office said Charles Hynes, the state's standing special prosecutor in New York City, is being asked to consider whether the case warrants action by his office.
