PC risk to children's eyes

COMPUTER screens can damage children's eyes permanently, according
to new research by US scientists.
The researchers discovered that nearly one in three children may
need glasses specifically for PC use to stop them developing short-
sightedness.
Many people already suffer from what is known as accommodative
lag, where each time they move their eyes over the page of a book,
they focus slightly beyond the words.
The eye muscles have to work to refocus, and although this strain
can cause headaches, there is little evidence that it can do
