Bridget McConnell dragged into Officegate scandal over her role as Fife Council official

BRIDGET McConnell, the First Minister's wife, was yesterday dragged into the Officegate affair when it was disclosed she attended a meeting of the Third Age group, the charity at the centre of the row which led to the resignation of Henry McLeish.

In her role as community services manager with Fife Council in May 1996, Mrs McConnell attended the annual general meeting of the charity at Glenrothes. It was reported at the meeting that the group had an office in Hanover Court, where Mr McLeish's constituency headquarters is located.
