Curt P. Richter, 94, Dies; Discovered Biorhythms

Curt Paul Richter, 94, who was credited with the discovery of
biorhythms and identifying the behavior that keeps the body
nutritionally balanced, died Dec. 21 at a retirement community here.
The cause of death was not reported.
Dr. Richter was a professor emeritus of psychobiology at The
Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.
After more than 50 years of research on animals and humans, Dr.
Richter was able to demonstrate scientifically that some behavior is
driven by internal mechanisms operating in predictable cycles, said
