Diary Basqueing in the spotlight

FORGET Euro 2008. Look out for Scotland v Basques, Hampden Park,
sometime in 2003.
You read it here first and it would have been enough to make the
wee country dancer Craigie Broon quake in his boots, although we are
sure Berti Vogts will be up to the challenge.
Credit for this piece of sporting history when it happens should
go to our unofficial ambassador to the Basque country, Lloyd Quinan,
MSP.
The Nat politician, who has even spoken in Basque on the Mound
(the language not the lingerie), is just back from another visit,
where the idea was raised with him during television interview.
