A roadside bomb killed three U.S. soldiers south of Baghdad on Friday, and American forces shot and killed three suspected insurgents north of the capital, U.S. military authorities said.

The soldiers were killed while on a mission in Babil province when their vehicle was struck by an explosion at 11:45 a.m., the military said in a brief statement. Capt.
