Braveheart tears up Glasgow deal after university ties GBP 5m knot with IP Group

BRAVEHEART Investment Group, the business angel network, has torn
up a technology funding deal with Glasgow University amid anger at
the institution's GBP 5m tie-up with IP Group, the London-based spin-
out specialist.
Glasgow announced last week that it will sell a 12 per cent stake
in its spin-out companies for the next 25 years to IP Group in return
for an initial GBP 5m and the services of an adviser.
But the deal, revealed in Scotland on Sunday in July, has been
greeted with hostility by many in the technology funding sector.
