Glasgow University to sell technology investment portfolio to IP Group for GBP 5m
|
GLASGOW University is understood to be preparing to sell its
portfolio of money-spinning technology for GBP 5m to IP Group, the
London-based commercialisation agency.
The deal covers the bulk of the saleable technology developed at
Glasgow for the next 25 years, according to university insiders.
IP Group has contracts with English universities, including Oxford
and Leeds, to exploit their technology through spin-out companies,
which in some cases have floated.
The price tag is regarded as low for an institution which just
five years ago claimed to have a portfolio of investments in spin- ...
